The West Linn Public Library is looking for a friendly, dependable Library Page to join our team. This position offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a modern library environment where technology, innovation, and customer service come together.

As a Library Page, you'll help support library operations while assisting with technology-related services, digital resources, and public technology spaces. You'll play an important role in creating a welcoming environment where community members can access information, explore new technologies, and connect with valuable resources. Examples of Duties

  • Contributes to a positive work environment.
  • Assists with the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of 3D printers and related design software, as well as other Makerspace equipment, including laser cutters/engravers.
  • Works collaboratively with library staff to develop, prepare, and deliver Makerspace programming and special projects.
  • Helps maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming Makerspace environment.

Qualifications

Education/Training:

  • Basic English skills, and computer knowledge, is required.
  • Customer service skills desirable.
Supervision:
Received: Regular supervision from Circulation Supervisor or a Library Manager.
Exercised: Supervision of other employees is not a normal responsibility of this position.

Communication:
Must be able to communicate effectively with the general public.

Cognitive Functions:
  • Some library experience desirable.
  • Ability to learn library procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
  • Some computer experience desirable.

Supplemental Information

Working Conditions:
Work is in a Library environment. Work is generally performed at the West Linn Library. Some travel throughout community for events, outreach and meetings. The work is performed during regular library hours, which include weekends and evenings. Regular lifting of book boxes is required. The position involves intermittent sitting, standing and walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
Position is part time, less than 20 hours per week. The schedule is not regular and will fluctuate depending on the Library's needs.
