Job Summary
The Music Librarian Assistant supports the department’s choral program by organizing and maintaining the music library, preparing and distributing scores, and assisting with routine administrative tasks. This position helps ensure that rehearsals, performances, and daily choral operations run efficiently.
Physical Demands
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
Required Qualifications
MWSU Student Degree Seeking At least an overall 2.0 GPA Enrolled at least part-time Reliability and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records. Willingness to handle printed and digital music materials with care Must handle departmental information responsibly and maintain confidentiality when appropriate Good communication skills and a professional demeanor in working with faculty, staff, and students. Ability to lift and transport boxes or stacks of music (up to 25 lbs)
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to a music major, particularly a student pursuing a degree in choral music education. Familiarity with choral music and score organization; experience with databases, spreadsheets, or library systems The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, and interested in serving in the position for multiple semesters.
