Middle School Librarian

A Typical Day Might Involve:
- Designing and implementing school services for grades 6-8 including classroom visits and material requests
- Planning middle school programming including holding makerspace classes
- Facilitating engagement in the dedicated middle school space
- Coordinating the middle school volunteer program
- Networking with local middle school community organizations to develop outreach services
- Staffing the Kids help desk and working occasional shifts in the makerspace
- Keeping the library collection fresh and engaging by ordering new materials, retiring old ones, and creating booklists and displays
- Planning and presenting story times and children’s programming as needed
We Are Looking for Candidates with:
- Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent work experience
- Minimum three years of experience working with middle schoolers
- Strong public service skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Flexible and adaptable in using various software platforms
Hourly Rate & Schedule
- Salary Range: Starting at $52,364
- Weekly Hours: 37.5, Full-time
- Schedule: Mon 12:30-9 p.m., Tues – Fri 8:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. Weekend rotation (Sat 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sun 1-5 p.m.) 1 out of 5 weekends and Fri night rotation (12:30-9 p.m.) 1 out of 5 Fridays
