Introduction


Prince William Public Libraries is looking for a dynamic and creative Senior Makerspace Librarian to join the team at Chinn Park Regional Library in Lake Ridge, Virginia. In this leadership role, you’ll bring your vision and passion for innovation to life by designing and delivering hands-on programming in our brand-new Makerspace. You'll collaborate with an enthusiastic team and play a key role in daily library operations. About This Role:

  • Serves as the department head of Makerspace. 
  • Participating in policy formulation and supervision. 
  • Overseeing programming and outreach. 
  • Supervise Makerspace Staff.
  • Serving as a member of the Chinn Park Library management team. 
  • Act as the person in charge of the building as needed. 

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in library or information science and 1 year of Makerspace or Technology Programming Experience


Preferences:

  • Supervisory experience, to include scheduling, hiring, and training performance management and the discipline process.
  • Experience working in a makerspace or technology programming environment. 
  • Experience planning and presenting programs. 
  • Experience managing operations within a facility. 
  • Experience in designing and delivering engaging programs for children, young adults, and/or adults.
  • Experience aiding with technology to others. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) 

Special Requirements:  The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.


Work Schedule:

  • This is a full-time exempt position. Chinn Park Regional Library is open Monday-Wednesday 10am to 8pm, and Thursday-Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 1:00pm to 5pm.
  • Scheduling flexibility is imperative. 
  • The schedule includes one evening per week and alternating Saturdays as assigned. 
  • Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the branch. 

Starting Salary Range:$70,921.50-84,444.75/ yearly
