Do you love books, technology, and helping people? Join our team as a Makerspace Librarian at Central Library! You’ll provide excellent customer service, assist with reference and reader’s advisory questions, help patrons with computers and technology, and support daily library operations.
In the Makerspace, you'll work one-on-one with individuals on creative and technical projects—guiding them through tools like 3D printers, sewing machines, and design software. You'll also plan hands-on programs in the space and out in the community. If you enjoy creating, teaching, and making a difference, this is a great opportunity to grow and share your skills!
About This Role:
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in library or information science.
Preferences:
Resolving patron inquiries and issues
Experience interpreting policy and procedure
Experience working in a Makerspace or similar environment
Experience with creative software and equipment
Experience locating materials and offer suggestions for materials or services
Experience in one-on-one teaching or tutoring
Collection or inventory maintenance
Experience troubleshooting technology (computers, printer, copier, fax)
Experience with Microsoft Office applications and library or inventory software.
Experience planning and presenting programs
Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, exempt position. Central Library operates Monday through Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The regular schedule includes one evening shift per week and alternating Saturdays, as assigned. Schedule flexibility is required and may vary based on the operational needs of the branch.
Starting Salary Range: $65,910.00 - $79,408.88 / yearly
