Duties

  • Provides technician support by performing direct public services, registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, assists with interlibrary loans, shelves library materials, answers basic reference questions, and assist customers.
  • Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories.
  • Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems.
  • Performs physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • Incumbent may also required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Health assessment and physical are required.
  • Must be available to work Tuesday-Saturday from 0830 - 1715.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  • One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade OR
  • Two years of education above high school OR
  • A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements.

  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
