Part-time Library Technicians work an average of 19 hours per week and are assigned to varied work shifts, including nights and Saturdays.
Desirable qualifications include experience assisting patrons with checking materials in and out, issuing new and replacement library cards, handling cash transactions, and explaining library policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will also be comfortable answering questions at service desks, assisting patrons in locating books and resources, and helping the public with computers, including navigating the library catalog.
A Day in the Life:Education and Experience:
Associate of Arts Degree in Library Science; AND One (1) year of responsible paraprofessional library experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment:
A valid State driver’s license is required.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Work is done in a standard library environment with minimal physical labor and exposure to adverse conditions. Will be required to provide customer service and interact with other staff, the public, and various public entities.
