The Louisville Public Library is seeking two warm, enthusiastic, customer service orientated, and technologically savvy individuals to work in our busy library as part-time Library Technicians. One selected candidate will support Youth Services and one will support Adult Services. Under the general direction of the Youth or Adult Services Supervisor, this position performs paraprofessional librarian support duties on a scheduled and on-call basis. This position will be scheduled on the adult, children’s, teen, and the circulation desk. This position provides assistance with reference, readers' advisory, instruction, and programming support for children, teens, and adults. Performs other work as required. Schedule includes evenings and rotating weekend hours. This position will be scheduled for 12-15 hours per week, based on the needs of the library.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, speak, and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands, fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to regularly move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
