                           Salary Range: $19.84 - $24.13

     

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
    The library technician is generally in charge of the processing and circulation of library /media materials in the school library. 

      QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Currently hold or have the ability to obtain an Educational Aide Permit with an ESEA-Qualified Endorsement REQUIRED
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Knowledge of processing and circulation media center materials. 
    • Ability to accurately follow written or verbal instructions.
    • Ability to supervise students.
    • Ability to collaboratively work with staff, students, and parents.
    • Ability to support and encourage all students.
    • Must be able to control temper and keep calm in all situations, and possess the ability to respond quickly when needed.
    • Must maintain confidentiality with appropriate parties at all times.
      

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

     
    • Circulate library /media to teachers and students and assist in their selection and use.
    • Process library /media materials following established procedures.
    • Maintain the card catalog. 
    • Repair books and media as needed and service equipment as directed. 
    • Maintain an attractive, orderly library conducive to learning.
    • Assist in the total library/media program as assigned. 
      

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     
    • Assists co-workers as required.
    • Performs other tasks as may be required by administration. 
     

    INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS AND PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WORKING CONDITIONS:

     
    • Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissues.
    • Occasional interaction among unruly students.

    Employees must pass a criminal background investigation and provide a fingerprint card prior to employment.
