Supervises, plans and directs the activities of the Nassau County Library System in order to ensure the proper administration and provision of County Library Services. Formulates and implements short-range and long-range plans for the improvement of Library services; develops and monitors the budget; seeks and maintains positive rapport with the public and other agencies to foster a positive Library image within the community. Oversees daily Library system operations and supervises Library staff and volunteers. Requires evening and weekend work.

Requires a Master’s Degree in Library Science supplemented by ten (10) years of professional experience in public libraries with at least two (2) in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Degree accredited by the American Library Association preferred. Must maintain annual certification with the Department of State as required to process passports. Must possess a valid State Driver’s License.
