Bringing Stories to Life: Get ready to dazzle audiences of all ages as you prepare and perform weekly library programs. Think animated storytelling, engaging book readings, and perhaps even a song or two (bonus points if you can hit those notes!).
Crafting Adventures: Unleash your inner artist by preparing exciting and imaginative crafts for children ages 0-12. Glitter, glue, and giggles await!
Library Whisperer: Help us keep our shelves looking spiffy and our collection in tip-top shape. You'll process materials, fix pesky data errors, and make sure everything is ready for eager readers.
Customer Service Superstar: You're the friendly face (and voice!) of the library! You'll check materials in and out, issue new accounts, help patrons find their next favorite book, and guide them through our online resources with tact and a smile. Whether it's in person, over the phone, or by email, you'll be a beacon of helpfulness.
Collection Curator (in training!): Share your brilliant ideas for new books and materials. You'll help us keep our collection fresh and exciting!
A high school diploma and at least six months of customer service experience – you're a people person!
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Awesome verbal and written communication skills.
A genuine love for working with children and young people.
Familiarity with children's literature (you know your picture books from your chapter books!).
A passion for animated storytelling and book reading.
An interest in children's crafts.
Bonus points if you can sing on pitch, and have experience with Cricut Design Space and Canva!
This is an in-person role where you'll be on your feet, moving around, and interacting with our wonderful patrons. You should be able to push and pull carts up to 200 pounds and lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
This position pays $15.45/hour via direct deposit.
While this position doesn't include health, dental, or paid time off benefits, Highland City contributes 7.5% into a 401K defined benefit plan for your future!
