Paraprofessional library position, which involves performing various administrative, clerical, technical, or skilled tasks. Duties involve a variety of tasks which are performed in accordance with established Library policies, procedures, and practices, but which require the application of independent judgment, creative thinking and clerical knowledge.
This recruitment is for an on-call/variable hour position. The selected candidates will not have a set schedule; work assignments will be offered for brief periods, as needed, to ensure the assigned departments are fully staffed.
Essential Position Functions:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Minimum of two (2) years related library experience. Proficient in the use of office productivity software and equipment. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work varying schedules.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to utilize a computer.
•Ability to lift and carry books and other Library materials weighing up to approximately twenty-five (25) pounds.
•Ability to set up program rooms, including, but not limited to setting up tables, chairs, and operating the movable walls.
Working Conditions:
Performs professional and administrative work in an office environment and library setting.
