The Kamehameha Schools Maui campus is seeking a Library Assistant to support their Upper Division Learning Center.
Ideal candidates will have an Information Professional background in one or more of the following areas: Library Science, Cataloging (Dewey Decimal System), Archiving, Preservation, or Museum Studies. They are also familiar with budgeting, procurement, and purchasing, and possess knowledge of or experience with Hawaiian Culture-Based Learning or Hawaiian Language, as this position may support small group learning and instruction.
Responsible for the physical processing of a variety of library materials to include but not limited to books, CDs, cassette tapes, VHS tapes, etc. Scans materials and generates book and spine labels, prepares processed books for distribution to appropriate libraries and provides daily relief coverage at the circulation desk. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the requirements listed.
