This position requires, but is not limited to the following:
Library Assistant -
- Assists at the circulation and information desk, prepares for closing, aids students in library and on the phone answering reference and routine questions, processing materials being checked in and out using the automated cirulation system.
- Assists students requesting technical assistance in the use and location of reference and general reading materials using on line public catalog, reference materials, dabases, internet, and other print/electronic sources.
- Assists with technology needs within the school.
- Updates and replaces periodic publications such as daily newspapers and weekly and monthly magazines.
- Shelving library materials.
- Potential assistance in cafeteria during breakfast and/or lunch.
- Other duties as required by librarian.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with / knowledge of technologies, including, but not limited to: Google, Chromebooks, iPads, is preferred.
- Secondary certification or license preferred, but not required.
- Experience working positively with high school students.
- Experience in implementing effective learning and behavior interventions.
- Experience with monitoring and intervening with student behavior as necessary.
- This position requires extensive mobility
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
