About This Role:

We are seeking innovative, adaptive, and customer-focused candidates to join our team. The ideal applicant will possess:

  • Customer Service Excellence: Experience in a library, retail, clerical, or help desk setting, providing professional face-to-face and phone support in a public environment. 
  • Core Library Operations: Experience checking materials in/out, create library cards, place requests, and interpret library policies. 
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience in assisting patrons with on-site technology (computers, printers, copiers, and fax machines), as well as digital resources and personal devices like tablets and smartphones. 
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel) and various databases essential for library operations. 
  • Operational Integrity: Experience with cash-handling with a high degree of accuracy and integrity. 
  • Flexibility and Collaboration: Experience working both independently and as a team member, with the flexibility to support a dynamic library schedule. 
  • Community Engagement: Willingness to participate in library programming and community outreach events. 
  • Additional Services: May provide Passport Acceptance Services to patrons as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

8th grade & 6 months customer service experience


Preferences:

Experience working in a library, retail, clerical or help desk providing face to face and by phone customer service in a public setting 

Experience using library apps 

Cash handling experience 

Experience using software and databases 

Experience working independently and collaboratively within a team 

Experience using and troubleshooting standard office equipment: computers, fax machines, and copiers. 

Experience using Microsoft Office (TEAMS, SharePoint, MS word, Excel) 

Scheduling Flexibility


Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.


Work Schedule:

This is a part-time, non-exempt 20-hour a week position. Library hours of operation are Monday-Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Thursday-Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the library. Weekend and evening work are required.


Hiring Salary Range: $19.41-$24.88 / hourly
