Temporary
On-site
Fairfield, California, United States

Description

Solano Community College is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary part-time reference desk assignments.  These positions are filled on an as needed basis and are on-going recruitments. Assignments may include day, evening and weekend hours.

The Solano Community College Library is currently seeking adjunct librarians to staff the reference desk face-to-face at the main campus Library (Fairfield) and at the Centers (Vallejo and Vacaville).  Hours may include evenings and weekends.  We are not currently hiring for online reference or online teaching (LR10), though these may be future options for pool members

Under administrative leadership, adjunct faculty librarians will participate in the planning, implementation and assessment of library programs that will contribute to the educational growth of the college community and support advancement of the mission of the college. Adjunct faculty are responsible for maintaining currency in their field and continuing professional development; utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position, and working as a team player with other Library faculty and staff.

This position is a "pool" position, meaning that openings may or may not be currently available. The District maintains a "pool" of applications for positions which are needed on an ongoing basis at Solano Community College. The advantage of "pool" positions is when a position becomes available, the Dean may immediately begin screening applications from the available pool of applicants without having to post a position and wait while the position is being advertised.

APPLICATION PROCESS DETAILS:

  • To be considered for this position, all complete applications and supporting materials must be received by the application deadline.
  • Meeting the minimum qualifications does not assure the candidate an interview. It is, therefore, important that the application be thorough and detailed.
  • Reference checks for the finalists will be conducted.
  • Candidates should not expect official notification until the selection of the candidate has been completed.
  • The College may re-advertise or delay filling a position.
Travel costs related to the interview are the responsibility of the candidate.
