Essential Job Functions

  • Serves as a liaison to academic departments to provide embedded and customized instructional support to faculty and research assistance to students
  • Oversees the library's operations and manages patron borrowing services
  • Prepares and presents seminars on the use of print and electronic information sources
  • Provides general reference and scholarly research assistance to students and other library patrons regarding library resource material location and retrieval
  • Oversees and manages the campus library's interlibrary loan system as well as the serials collection
  • Researches industry best practices for effective library reference material management and implements practices, as appropriate
  • Develops print and online guides to library facilities, resources and services
  • Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a master’s degree
  • Experience working in library reference services or other related experience
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Experience troubleshooting technology issues
  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Committed to providing excellent reference services

 

Please note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Charlotte Campus location upon hire.
