Join us as a Librarian II in the Youth Services department and embark on an exciting library adventure! Lead and train a dynamic team while designing creative programs for children from birth through grade 12. Step into the role of supervisor when the manager is away and make a lasting impact on young minds.
Examples of Duties
Supervises, hires, trains, evaluates, and schedules Youth Services staff
Plans and executes age-appropriate library programs both on-site and off-site, with responsibilities including coordinating and delivering deposit collections to local childcare centers during outreach visits
Provides assistance to customers at the Youth Services desk by helping with information requests and offering readers' advisory
Oversees Youth Services collection development including print and electronic materials under the direction of the Division Manager for Collection Development, or Branch Manager
Compiles, prepares, and maintains departmental reports, records, statistics, and budget information
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in Library Science and one (1) year of professional library experience, preferably including six months of supervisory experience.
Management Preference:
Experience in providing services to youth and a demonstrated ability to manage a grant-related project with minimal supervision.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of modern Library operations
Knowledge of current materials, literature and trends, technology and developments and electronic services
Knowledge of and familiarity with grant writing
Ability to train and supervise work of others
Ability to plan and schedule the workflow of professionals, paraprofessionals, and clerical staff
Ability to analyze problems and to recommend practical solutions
