Bridges Library System's Coordinator of Library Development plans, coordinates, and evaluates the continuing education opportunities and training for member library staffs and trustees, approves the continuing education activities for certification of member library directors, and consults with library staffs about continuing education activities and library services for adults. The position also coordinates regional continuing education opportunities and events for the southeastern Wisconsin (SEWI) region, comprising of five library systems which includes Bridges Library System, serving a total of 94 public libraries in 11 counties, and collaborates with other continuing education consultants throughout the state.

Under supervision, acts as library professional subject matter expert providing assistance, guidance, training, and support to member libraries and partner agencies with the goal of improving the member libraries’ ability to serve the residents; and to perform other duties as required.
