Job Description
This position reports to the Director of Public Services. The Interlibrary Loan Librarian manages and coordinates the system-wide Interlibrary Loan ( ILL ) service for the University of Tulsa’s McFarlin Library and coordinates the activities of the ILL department. This position works with and trains ILL staff in the functions of borrowing and lending library materials, utilizing various software, systems, and Interlibrary Loan processes, including following copyright laws, to ensure the successful processing of materials. This position also helps to remedy any issues which may occur with other libraries or customer issues relating to Interlibrary Loan activities, while delivering exemplary customer service to both internal and external customers. In addition, the Interlibrary Loan Librarian also teaches library instruction sessions as needed and provides reference and research assistance. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : · Performs all ILL tasks, both borrowing and lending. · Oversees, prioritizes, and directs the daily workflow of the interlibrary loan department. · Serves as a liaison/contact person to various ILL programs and functions, including RapidILL, ILLiad Online Computer Library Center’s ( OCLC ) WorldShare ILL program, and the Library of Congress. · Monitors and ensures copyright compliance and ensures payment for copyright usage. · Generates, maintains, monitors, and analyzes a variety of statistical reports which relate to ILL activities and other areas of responsibility. · Teaches library and information literacy across a range of disciplines. · Provides outstanding customer service to faculty, staff, and students. · Conducts library tours, orientations, and special activities. · Provides reference service to patrons. · Creates and modifies LibGuides to meet the educational needs of the university. · Compiles and maintains extensive and accurate data for library and university reporting. · Participates in campus-wide and/or library committees and activities to promote library engagement with the university community. · Works effectively with a diverse population to provide excellent instruction opportunities.

Physical Demands
· Able to lift 10-15 lbs. of materials above your head. · Able to climb and work while on a ladders and lift library materials above your head. · Able to push heavy book trucks and place books on shelves in a repetitive motion. · Position will require long periods of standing or sitting, depending on the task.

Preferred Qualifications
Required: · Master’s degree in Library and/or Information Science from an ALA -accredited program. · Experience providing reference services. · Two (2) years of prior library experience. · Strong customer service orientation. · Ability to work flexibly and creatively in a team environment as well as independently on assigned tasks. · Excellent organization and time management skills. · Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as effective presentation skills. · Must be willing to work weekends and evenings. Preferred Qualifications: · Strong understanding of ILLIAD , Microsoft Office Suite, Sierra, and Adobe. · Able to assist with the supervision and training of other departmental employees. · Desire for continued learning opportunities.
