Position Level: Administrative

Hours per Week: 8-10

Pay Rate: $9/hr

Reports To: Maureen Monhollen

Job Description:    

The Interior Architecture Resource Library role is essentially a librarian to maintain, organize and manage the physical materials used by the interior architecture program for the selection of interior and exterior building materials, furniture, finishes, and equipment, and for specification documents, trade journals and publications relevant to the profession.

Job Tasks:

  • Be knowledgeable of the layout and organization of the room; act as a “tour guide” for anyone using the space.
  • Re-shelf all materials, products and samples that have been left out, or placed in the cart for reshelving
  • Assist students to help them find specific materials
  • Assist faculty with any material requests for class instruction
  • Accept, categorize samples and materials that are donated to the Resource Room, and write thank you notes to the donor
  • Update and maintain a product vendor list, and keep a current list posted.
  • Keep paint sets organized; protect master sets from each vendor as “reference only”
  • Update magazines and periodicals so most current issues on located in the magazine carousel, back issues are filed chronologically in the bookcase
  • Throw out damaged binders that are missing most of their contents, all samples or materials that do not have manufacturer labels or specification data included.
  • Help maintain the large format plotters; paper jams, changing ink cartridges, basic maintenance tasks
  • Help students use the desktop plotter for high resolution scans. 
  • Meet with faculty advisor once a month to review processes and suggestions for improvement.
