Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Provide course-related information literacy instruction, assignment design, and assessment; deliver research support in a variety of modalities to PLNU students, faculty, and staff
Develop and maintain digital research guides, instructional resources, and other supplemental materials as appropriate for designated departments and programs
Provide point-of-need instruction at the Research Help Desk one evening per week and as scheduled in regular daytime rotation
Coordinate collection development in designated academic areas
Collaborate with library colleagues to envision and prepare for emerging needs and opportunities within the university community
Participate in departmental activities and governance
Serve on university faculty committees/working groups and perform other normal faculty duties
Engage with and contribute to the scholarship of the discipline
Participate in workshops, continuing education programs, library conferences, and other professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in library and information science from an ALA-accredited program required; additional relevant Master’s or doctoral degree required if librarian opts to pursue promotion beyond Associate Professor
Experience or significant graduate preparation in providing research support, information literacy instruction, and collection development, preferably in an academic library context
Experience or significant graduate preparation in teaching and learning in face-to-face, hybrid, and digital environments
Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, faculty agree to live in agreement with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant.
