ASR International is seeking a Information Services Librarian to provide Library Management Services to the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Library.  The NIEHS Library is an integral, effective, and preeminent partner in the research and training effort and accomplishments at NIEHS.  Information professionals provide library services of the highest caliber that meet expressed and anticipated needs of the research and administrative staff, especially through innovative technological means.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as Lead on reference services
  • Conducts literature searches and organizes results in EndNote
  • Creates bibliometric visualizations to demonstrate trends in published scientific research and to show collaborative and impact of lab groups.
  • Produces researcher bibliometric reports for Board of Scientific Counselors (BSC) reviews and internal NIEHS reviews
  • Responds to reference requests
  • Develops classes and training on databases and other library resources.
  • Teaches group and one-on-one training classes.
  • Provides expertise on reliable information sources and tools for research.
  • Assists with marketing and outreach events

Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Library Science preferably with specialized or government libraries concentration.
  • Experience in science, medical, or technical libraries.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional library experience.
  • Significant experience performing research is required, preferably in a library or other information services position.
  • Experience working concurrently on multiple projects or tasks with challenging deadlines is preferred.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills and must be able to follow instructions and process.
  • Must have careful attention to detail.
  • Must be comfortable with using software and online technologies; will be required to use a variety of databases, including PubMed, Web of Science, and others.
  • Must have strong experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, One Note, One Drive, Outlook, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Must have superior digital-research capability.
  • Must be comfortable with communicating via phone, e-mail, and videoconference with colleagues and project teams in multiple offices at different locations.
