About This Role:

As the Information Services Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the success of the Chinn Park Regional Library by leading a talented team and ensuring operational excellence. Your responsibilities include:

  • Oversee Adult Librarians and the Youth Services Supervisor, fostering a culture of growth through proactive hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Serve as a key member of the Branch Management Team and the system-wide Information Services Managers team to shape library processes and system-wide programming.
  • Lead the planning of adult services quarterly meetings and "Adult Share Day," and step in as acting Branch Manager when necessary to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Regularly staff the integrated service desk, providing expert assistance in circulation, reference, reader’s advisory, and technology.
  • Serve as the Person-in-Charge (PIC) on a rotating schedule (evenings/weekends), interpreting library policies and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment by enforcing the Code of Conduct.
  • Manage the adult services programming budget, track performance statistics, and prepare comprehensive monthly reports to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Oversee building-wide collection maintenance to ensure a relevant and high-quality inventory for our patrons.
  • Collaborate with programming staff to design, implement, and evaluate innovative services and outreach initiatives for all age groups.
  • Sustain existing community relationships while proactively identifying and pursuing new opportunities for local engagement.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in library or information science. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a public library, to include 1 year in a supervisory role


Preferences:

  • 2 or more years of supervisory experience in public library environments including personnel management 
  • Experience with budget management, including monitoring expenditures, resource allocation, and providing financial forecasts for departmental services.
  • Experience in managing the day-to-day operations of a public library facility, including oversight of opening/closing procedures, coordinating maintenance requests, and providing procedural feedback.
  • Experience with library collection maintenance and development practices, ensuring the collection remains relevant and responsive to community needs.
  • Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating high-impact programming and outreach initiatives for patrons of all ages.
  • Excellent customer service skills including policy interpretation, public service, and managing difficult situations 
  • Experience in public service, including experience clearly interpreting and explaining library policy and effectively managing complex or difficult patron interactions.


Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.


Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, exempt 37.5 hours per week position. Hours are scheduled at Chinn Park Regional Library Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The schedule includes days, one evening per week, and alternating Saturdays as assigned. Scheduling flexibility is imperative. Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the library.


Hiring Salary Range:

$82,777.50 - 96,905.25
