Job Description Summary
The Health Sciences Librarian serves as the liaison librarian to the Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences with an emphasis on graduate programs. The position works collaboratively with health sciences faculty to provide course-integrated information literacy and related evidence-based practice instruction, and research support for programmatic student learning outcomes. The position may support and contribute to the health sciences curriculum by offering lectures, workshops, and seminars. The position may work collaboratively with faculty on course-related assignments and identifying supporting evidence. Additional duties consist of support to the Health Sciences Study Commons and new Campus Center at the Rinker campus, including reference services, research services, daily library operations, outreach and marketing, collection development of print and online resources, and creation of instructional materials such as LibGuides. Duties may include evening and weekend hours. Travel between the Rinker and Orange campus will be required as needed. Additional duties as assigned. Provide support to the Health Sciences Study Commons and Campus Center at the Rinker campus, including reference services, research services, daily library operations, outreach and marketing, collection development of print and online resources, and creation of instructional materials such as LibGuides. Duties may include evening and weekend hours. Travel between the Rinker and Orange campus will be required as needed. Additional duties as assigned. Professional development to include reviewing of library related literature, scholarly or creative activities, and reflective analysis.

Required Qualifications
A.L.A. accredited M.L.S. degree. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills working with a diverse group of individuals at several different organizational levels. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and working in a team environment. Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and make appropriate decisions/recommendations. Commitment to professional growth and development. Demonstrated experience in health sciences reference services, library instruction, and collection development, preferably in an academic library. Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of information resources in the field of health sciences. Knowledge of current and emerging trends in health sciences librarianship. Understanding of evidence-based practices, concepts, and tools. Ability to promote library resources and services to faculty and students in health sciences. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate work among different projects. Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills.
