Description

The Division of Library & Information Resources/H.T. Sampson Library at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Health Sciences Librarian position.  The Health Sciences Librarian will provide in-depth, basic services, and research consultation to faculty, students, and staff.
 

Examples of Duties

  • Develops and implements virtual and in-class library instruction programs, workshops, and tours.
  • Coordinates with the Dean of Libraries to develop strategies and actively engage with collection development in support of research and teaching needs of faculty and students of Science and Health academic programs, and Library Liaison to Health Sciences programs.
  •  Will share nights and weekends.

Typical Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program in library and information science.

 

Qualifications:

Experience in planning and/or providing information literacy instruction or other teaching experience.
 Academic degree or academic subject background.
 Excellent in oral and written communication skills.
 Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as a team member.
 Excellent communication, planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
 Knowledge of information literacy, organization trends, practices, and issues.
 Demonstrated abilities in research scholarly work and professional services.
