GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Instruction & Technology Librarian will be responsible for conducting digital inclusion and information literacy instruction for students and faculty, which includes Early College and Career and College Promise (CCP) students located at off-campus sites. The Instruction & Technology Librarian will also assist in technology development, updating the library’s website through LibGuides, and working with faculty on embedded librarian and OER projects.   

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: 

  • MLS or MLIS from an ALA-Accredited Program (will accept applications from students who are nearing completion of their degree). 
  • Experience in a library setting—preferably in a community college or academic library. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct digital inclusion and information literacy instruction to students and faculty, which includes CCP and Early College students. 
  • Responsible for curating and updating the library’s website hosted through LibGuides.
  • Create and maintain interactive, digital learning tutorials and courses in support of library instruction.
  • Network with faculty to assess digital inclusion needs such as embedded librarianship and finding OER materials. 
  • Serve as the point-person for the library’s Chromebook and Wi-Fi hotspot circulation program. 

OTHER DUTIES

DUTIES:

  • Assist the Dean of Learning Resources & Grant Management in the curation and development of library databases and e-content. 
  • Along with the other librarians, participate in collection development and weeding activities. 
  • Serve as technical liaison with vendors of electronic library resources and services. 
  • Work cooperatively with other librarians and Center for Teaching & Learning staff to promote the use of digital tools and resources through Canvas and the Library website.
  • Serve on college committees as requested and participate in library-related professional associations and other professional development activities with particular emphasis on information technology and digital services.
  • Work with the State Library & Archives to preserve College artifacts & digitize materials.  
  • Compile statistics and maintain accurate records in areas of responsibility in adherence to state and accrediting regulations. 
  • In collaboration with the Dean of Learning Resources & Grant Management, identify and pursue grant opportunities for the library. 
  • Perform other duties at request by the Dean of Learning Resources & Grant Management.
