In this position, you will oversee the daily operations of the institutional library in the librarian’s absence, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that encourages reading and educational growth among inmates. Your responsibilities will include supervising inmate work crews, maintaining attendance and progress reports, responding to inquiries from inmates and institutional staff regarding library resources and services, and preparing daily inmate callout lists. Additionally, you will manage inmate correspondence and process incoming and outgoing library mail. You will also support the librarian with training, scheduling, hiring, and, when necessary, terminating inmate library workers.
