Supervise work processes and evaluate the performance of Circulation Staff and Student Workers affiliated with the position
Teach information literacy skills as requested
Support and participate in special events hosted by Beaman Library
Collaborate with other Beaman employees to create displays highlighting the book collection
Represent Beaman Library on an campus wide academic committee
Enthusiastically support the mission of Lipscomb University and of Christian higher education
Circulation:
Supervise Circulation Assistant
Hire, train, and supervise Circulation Student Workers
Approve bi-weekly timecards for Circulation Staff
Maintain accurate catalog as it relates to circulation activities
Maintain course reserves materials
Oversee checkouts, overdue fines, and book replacement fees
Issue Alumni/Special Privilege Cards
Manage the shelving integrity of the print collection; Supervise re-shelving of books
Supervise ongoing shelf-reading and weeding project
Maintain library-owned technology
Collaborate with Education Dept. about education kit checkouts
Manage the use of study rooms and maintain supply box in each one
Teach information literacy classes for Freshman Seminar and other classes as requested by professors
1 night a week rotation with other librarians at Reference Desk; possible occasional weekend hours
Serve student needs regarding circulation of print collection
Collection Development:
Communicate with department heads and other faculty to access print needs
Evaluate print collection needs in collaboration with departments and develop fiscally efficient purchasing strategies that adhere to print collection budget
