Your opportunity:
The Centre for Criminology & Sociolegal Studies (CrimSL) is a research and teaching unit whose faculty and studentsstudy crime, order and security from a variety of disciplinary perspectives and theoretical approaches. We offer an undergraduate program as well as graduate programs for masters and doctoral students, providing a solid foundation for understanding aspects of crime, justice and the processes of social order and disorder. With various backgrounds in sociology, history, law, psychology, philosophy and political science, our faculty are engaged in Canadian and international criminological research.
Reporting to the Librarian, the Cataloguing, Research and Resource Services Library Assistant will be responsible for cataloguing, and maintaining the library catalog. The incumbent will provide reference and research assistants to students, and faculty and will assist in the creation of guides, displays and exhibits. Other major duties will include shelving, technical services, downloading of records, copy cataloging, supporting the circulation desk, preparing periodicals for binding, and assisting librarian with social media updates. Additionally, the incumbent will assist with weeding, curating and organizing the library’s monographs, periodicals and rare books in preparation for a move to Woodsworth College in 2027. Other clerical tasks and library projects will be assigned as needed.

USW Pay Band 10 -- $70,844. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $90,595. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
