Job Summary


To work closely with the team of librarians and staff to support undergraduate and graduate teaching, learning, and research. As the Access, Academic Services, and Innovation Librarian, you will report directly to the Dean of the Library and serve as a library liaison in selected disciplines. We encourage active participation in professional organizations, service in library and university governance, and provide ample opportunities for professional development, all of which are essential for tenure.


Job Duties & Responsibilities


  • Providing strategic and collaborative leadership on library-wide issues. 
  • Providing research support and instruction across the curriculum. 
  • Providing liaison support for multiple departments. 
  • Serving on library and campus committees. 
  • Developing and implementing innovative and transformative programs, research, and instruction support models aligned with the university and Academic strategic plans. 
  • Developing and implementing a collaborative vision, strategy, and tactics for digital scholarship and scholarly communication (including AI, OA, and OER ). 
  • Working creatively and effectively to promote teamwork, diversity, equality, and inclusiveness within the University Digital Library and across the institution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Minimum: 

  • A Master’s degree in library/information science or a related subject and at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in libraries or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. 
  • Significant and sustained leadership experience, ideally in an academic library setting. 
  • Evidence of effective management skills and daily operations of an academic library. 
  • Knowledge of best practices and trends leading through change. 
  • Demonstrated leadership, planning, communication, and organizational skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with faculty. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop practical Information Literacy guides. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop practical Libguides to support academic programs. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of how pedagogical innovations, technology, and scholarly information impact library services, collections, and physical spaces. 
  • Understanding of pedagogical methods and learning outcomes and assessment in support of teaching and learning. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to work within a diverse environment and interact openly with individuals of different backgrounds. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred: 
  • Demonstrated record of inspiring, supporting, and managing a high-performance team that is responsive, innovative, collaborative, and efficient. 
  • Familiarity with a broad range of teaching and research methodologies and practices. 
  • Experience with designing, delivering, and evaluating academic support services. 
  • Experience leading organizational change and the ability to inspire innovation. 
  • Experience building successful internal and external relationships. 
  • Agile and adaptable to the community and culture of the University. 
  • Advanced academic degree.
